When I learned that the rally was taking place in the U.S., my father and I drove to the Crescent Court in Dallas, Texas to see the cars arrive. We met Julie Brangstrup, (Max’s wife) who let us into the party that night; it was amazing. She gave me the first Gumball 3000 video and the original Top Trumps Gumball 3000 cards, which I still have to this day.
Fast forward eight years and I am still just an enthusiastic about the rally as I ever have been. When the 2009 Gumball drove through Amarillo, Texas, I drove over two and a half hours to see the cars at the Big Texas Steak House check point. There, I met Max, Tony Hawk, Mike Escamilla, Danny Kass, and the Dingo.
I really am a huge fan of the event and have tried numerous times to work for the organization. Cars are my passion and always will be. They are one of the few things in existence that are able to break barriers across the world. Everyone loves seeing a beautiful car.

I too remember our time at Crescent Court in Dallas. Someone from the rally saw his excitement and invited the two of us to their dinner party that night. It was like Christmas day for Gregg.
